Mallorca - Porto Colom/ Cala Marcal This stunning ground floor apartment is situated in a quiet suburb of Porto Colom. The area is known as Cala Marcal. Porto Colom is approximately 60 kms from Palma. Roads from the airport are excellent and very well sign-posted. Porto Colom and its surrounds are host to some of the most beautiful beaches and golf courses that Mallorca has to offer. The apartment itself is within a fully walled and gated complex of 3 buildings with 6 apartments in each. There is plenty of safe parking within the grounds and a delightful pool area for all to enjoy. There is a large pool for adults and a smaller one for children to enjoy. The apartment consists of a beautifully decorated and comfortable open-plan lounge and dining room. TV, DVD player etc are all supplied. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxed and care-free holiday. The lounge and kitchen spill out onto a large verandah with patio furniture. This in turn leads onto a lovely garden area - ideal for children. There is a fence at the end of the garden with a gate which makes for easy access to the pool. The 3 tastefully furnished bedrooms all have ceiling fans to keep you cool in summer. The main bedroom is en-suite with shower and bath. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower. All bed linen and both bath and beach towels are supplied for you. There is a second set of change-over linen should you require it for a long stay. You can either do the change-over yourselves or we can organise someone to come in and do it for you. Things To Do For those who haven’t been to Mallorca before, one will find that the island has a lot to offer. From its outstanding beaches to the mountains - there is always something to see and do. It’s also an extremely affordable holiday especially if you do it the self-catering way where you have the choice of preparing your own meals but also going out to restaurants to sample the local fare. The apartment is situated about 400 m away from Cala Marcal - a delightful beach where one can hire pedal boats, buy goodies from the beach bar, snorkel, hire umbrellas and loungers etc. There is no need to drive to this beach as it’s so close to the apartment. Simply pack the umbrella and cooler box provided for you, grab your towels etc and head off! Convenience Shopping There is a Spar situated very close to the apartment. Very easy to pick up supplies on your way home from the beach. There is also a larger supermarket situated a few kilometers away. Car Hire It is advisable to hire a car if you really want to see the area as each part of Mallorca has something unique to offer. There are however regular buses between Palma and Porto Colom and a very reliable ferry service operates a catamaran between the different beaches. Night Life There are fabulous restaurants and pubs in the area that one can either walk or drive to. Each place has its own special vibe. The apartment has its own guest file with recommendations and brochures of places that guests have been to. Whether its sipping sundowners overlooking your favourite cala or having a barbeque back at the complex, nothing can be more relaxing. Golf Sample some of the many outstanding golf courses in the area. Most of these offer special “twilight” rates.
